On 27 October, I visited Studio, the Mima museum exhibition by French artist Jean Jullien. What struck me in the exhibition is the intriguing blend of emotions. For instance, Jullien’s sea painting exudes calmness and nostalgia and reminds us of precious moments with loved ones. However, I was shocked by a piece featuring a fish on a cutting board which left me uncomfortable. The childlike style of this work added an unexpected layer to the experience.
